It’s an unusual house, and not the kind of house you’d expect to find in the middle of the desert.
The house is on the edge of the CBD’s urban housing zone, which is set to become more popular in the coming years.
The $100-million house was purchased for $1.8 million in 2014.
The land is about 2.5km from the city’s CBD.
Landowner David Taylor said he’s looking forward to the house becoming part of the city.
“We’ve been in contact with [city planners] about it,” he said.
“This is a new development in the city that we’ve never had to consider before, so it’s really exciting for us.”
It’s the kind you don’t see every day.
It’s got a nice garden, a little bit of a beach, lots of space and I think people will enjoy it.
“The house is surrounded by a large lawn, with a view over the CBD.
It’s also surrounded by two residential units, which include a one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartment.”
There’s not a lot of room in the house, it’s just a nice place to sit down and have a coffee,” Mr Taylor said.
So we bought it and we thought, we’d put in a good deal for him.” “
The contractor said he wanted to make the building affordable,” he explained.
“So we bought it and we thought, we’d put in a good deal for him.”
The house has a balcony and the roof has been raised to give a view across the CBD to the CBD river.
Mr Taylor and his wife, Sarah, own a nearby farm.
There’s also a car park, with storage space on the ground floor.
“That’s all we need, a place to park our car, which I guess we’ll be using in the future,” Mr Taylor said.
He said the couple hoped to build a larger house in the area.
“I don’t think we’ll need to go into the CBD as we have a lot more room in that house,” he joked.
This is not the first time Mr Taylor has purchased a property for $100m.
In 2009, he bought a $70-million property in Sydney’s east for $75 million.
At the time, Mr Taylor was still working for a construction company in Sydney.
His wife is also working in construction, and said she didn’t know how the couple was going to spend their $100million.
In 2010, Mr Taser bought a three-bedroom house for $80 million in Melbourne’s west for $90 million.
