Aired is a real estate site that specializes in building homes for people who want to live in places that are more than just the city.
In 2018, Aired’s property team, headed by a veteran real estate investor, decided to create an apartment building for Malaysians to live, work, and play in a city that they loved.
“Malaysia is the first country to legalize the sale of apartment properties for a new population.
It’s the first to allow the building of apartments for the new population to live there,” said Aired CEO, Lee Joo, adding that the company aims to become the first of its kind to build apartments for Malaysias’ growing wealth.
The company is currently working on the construction of a 30,000 square foot apartment building on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur for its Malaysian branch.
The project is expected to be completed in 2021, which is only a few years away, Joo said.
Aired partnered with two developers, Jomang and Rizi Group, to design and build the apartment building.
The developers were able to secure the rights to construct the building because they both have an interest in the country, Joon said.
The apartments are designed to look and feel like the homes they will be renting in the new city, which will include modern amenities like a swimming pool, gymnasium, gym, fitness center, and other amenities.
“The apartments will be designed to fit within the city limits, so that we don’t overwhelm the local market,” Joon added.
The apartment building will also feature amenities like rooftop terraces, a large kitchen with appliances, and a living room that will accommodate a large number of guests.
It will also be able to accommodate up to 60 families, Jao added.
“It’s important for Malays to be able afford to live like a city and be able access the same amenities as we do in other cities,” Joo told Recode.
